In order to access and analyze Network Details in Session Replay, data collection must first be enabled. Please get in touch with your Customer Success Manager if you don't have access yet, and would like for it to be enabled.
Before you begin: Personal data handling
Enabling data collection for Network Details can create an additional risk of exposing personal data.
This feature collects metadata about all the requests occurring during a session (such as URL, Timings, Size). It includes API calls, but also requests for assets (image, javascript or CSS file, etc) or third-party vendors' related traffic. In some situations, those URLs could contain some personal data or sensitive information.
You should therefore ensure that you have the proper measures in place to prevent the collection of such data. You can refer to the technical documentation below for information on removing this data from the collected URLs (this is the same mechanism that masks API Errors URLs):
For additional technical context, we leverage both of the APIs (below) to collect data. Note that, query strings will be removed from the URLs we collect.
