Dashboards provide a high-level overview of your site’s key metrics using graphs and charts. With Dashboards, you can stay on top of your most important metrics by filtering and comparing an aggregate of demographic and user-behavior metrics. You can create multiple dashboards with the most relevant metrics for your business that you can revisit regularly.
Dashboard overview
Within your dashboard, you’re able to do the following:
Add filters
Note, certain filters are only available on the Growth plan. Those not available on the Free plan will be grayed out.
Filter your dashboard to focus on the data most relevant to you. Filtering allows you to display only a specific group of sessions that match your filtering criteria so you can more effectively focus your dashboard analysis.
Apply segments
Segments are collections of session filters that can be saved for reuse. You can use the same segments across Session Replay and Dashboards.
Widget drilldown
Click through to specific Heatmaps, Session Replays (dependent on the filters available with your plan), Surveys, or Impact (on Growth plans) to zoom in on the aggregated data and move from the quantitative to the qualitative to learn more.
Add widgets
Add a new widget from a template, or add a funnel (Funnels are available on the Growth plan only).
You can use the following widget templates on your dashboards:
- Top pages
- Page overview (metrics for a single page)
- Rage clicks
- Pages with rage click
- Top traffic channels
- New vs Returning
- Technology (devices, operating systems, and browsers)
- Top countries
Customize your dashboard
You can change the location of a chart by clicking down on the top of the chart and dragging it to a new location on your dashboard. Use the icons at the top of each chart to apply additional customization options for a specific chart.
You can customize an individual dashboard to:
- Change the chart type and calculation settings of individual charts.
- Set the exit or landing pages in the Top Pages chart.
- Set the device in the Devices chart. Choose between device, browser or operating system on the Technology chart.
- Add a new widget from a template.
- Add a new trend or funnel which is a custom metric created by you (available on Growth plans).
- Duplicate or delete widgets.
How to create a new dashboard
1. Go to Dashboard, and click ‘New dashboard’.
2. Choose one of the templates, or click ‘Start from scratch’ to create a new custom dashboard.
- If you choose one of the templates, fill in additional parameters (e.g. URL for Page issues), and we'll generate a dashboard with recommended metrics for you. You can further customize this dashboard by following the steps below.
3. Click ‘Add widget’, followed by ‘Add from template’, or create a custom metric using ‘Add from Funnels’ (available on the Growth plan).
4. Find the metric you'd like to display, and click ‘Add to dashboard’.
How to pin, edit, or delete a dashboard
Next to the dashboard’s name:
- Use the ‘pin’ icon to pin/unpin the dashboard. A pinned dashboard will appear at the top, under the ‘Pinned’ list.
- Use the three-dot menu to rename, duplicate, or delete the dashboard.
