Creating a new project is essential to recruiting, scheduling, and hosting user interviews. In this article, you'll learn how to create a project.
1. On your Interviews page, click New project.
2. Add a title, select your interview settings, and add your availability.
- Project title: This is only visible to you and your team.
- Interviews: Select the video call platform from either a Contentsquare video call or add a video call link to a different platform. Choose the duration for each interview from 30 mins, 45 mins, 60 mins, 90 mins, or 120 mins. For testing simple and defined features, 30-minute Interviews are recommended. When testing complex interfaces or needing deeper, wider-ranging conversations, we suggest 60-minute Interviews.
- Availability for interviews: Select your timezone and provide your available times. You can also connect your calendar to manage your availability more easily.
3. Enter how many participants you need, then select the recruitment source and compensation offer.
Your recruitment source can be:
- Our participant pool: This includes access to over 200,000 potential participants. After selecting this option, you'll need to enter the compensation amount you'll offer eligible participants. You'll also need to indicate what participants you're looking for regarding demographics, personal details, education and work experience, mobile device, and whether to talk with new or past participants.
- Your own participants: Contentsquare handles scheduling and hosting and you'll receive an invitation link to share with your participants.
Each plan has a maximum compensation limit, and for fairness, each interview length has a minimum compensation amount.
4. Customize the participant invitation template that will be sent to potential participants.
5. Select how you'd like participants to schedule their interview with you.
You can choose Automatic scheduling if you'd like to allow participants to book their own interview once they pass the screening questions. Otherwise, you can choose Approve before scheduling to handpick participants based on their answers to the screener questions.
6. Add screening questions to be used to find eligible participants.
Screener questions let you ask potential participants for more details to ensure you find the best match.
- Multiple choice questions enable potential participants to select one or more options from a set of shown options. For each possible option, you can set whether the potential participant must select the option or be screened out, may select the option in which case they continue, or when the option is incorrect and the potential participant will therefore be screened out.
- Single choice questions let potential participants select only one option from a set of shown options. For each possible option, you can set whether the potential participant must select the option or be screened out, or when an option is incorrect and the potential participant will be screened out.
- Text questions allow potential participants to respond briefly in a single-line field. If the response is longer than the length of the response field, potential participants can scroll horizontally, but all text is contained in one line. Automatic screening out is not available as this is an open-text response.
7. Review your project details, then confirm by clicking Start project.
If you're recruiting from our participant pool, we'll now start inviting potential participants from our pool for your project. Instead, if you're recruiting using your own participants, it's time to share the generated link with potential participants that you'd like to invite.
