Heatmaps visualize user interactions by showing you clicks, movements and scroll actions. With Heatmaps in Zoning you can find hotspots where users tend to click and hover more, and visualize how deep users scroll down the page.
How access Heatmaps in Zoning
1. Open Zoning Analysis and click on a Zoning.
2. Click on Heatmap from the drop down menu.
3. You can then choose your heatmap mode from three options:
- Move map: Move Heatmaps show where users have moved their mouse on the screen.
- Scroll map: Scroll Heatmaps are used to show you how far down the page your users scroll.
- Click map: Click and Tap Heatmaps will help you determine where users are clicking on your page. (Tapping will be tracked if they are on a mobile or tablet).

Note: To display a Heatmap on an open menu, you will need to create a snapshot with the relevant menu open.
Export and share Heatmaps
1. Click on the more options button.
- Click Copy analysis link to share with other Contentsquare users.
- Click Export to export your heatmap visual in PNG format.
Compare Heatmaps
Compare how different groups of users interact with specific areas of your product to help you discover any potential improvements or validate existing assumptions. For example: Compare new vs. returning users to see how first-time users interact with a page, such as Homepage.
1. Click Compare.
2. Use the Analysis Context to update the segments you want to compare.

Yes, you can share your Heatmaps analysis with other Contentsquare users. Click on the more options and then click Copy analysis link.
