Which mappings should I use for my analysis?
Choose your scenario:
Type of data I'm looking for...
- Zoning analysis to see UX or Revenue data over zones of a screen
- Screen metrics to compare screen-level metrics (like Bounce rate, or Activity time) between several screens
- Journey analysis to visualize navigation journeys
Screens I want to analyze...
- Screen template with aggregated data from many screen names of the same screen template?
- A specific screen name?
- A specific element visible on all screens of your app?
- Main customer journeys? Or specific journeys to a certain screen?
How do mappings affect my analysis?
Depending on the mapping you select, the data visualization will be either aggregated or detailed. For example, if you create your zoning in Zoning analysis based on a Screen from a Global mapping, you will get a high-level data overview of screen names with the same screen template.
On the other hand, if you select a mapping with a Screen grouping screen names of a specific category page only, not all category screens following the same template, then zoning will display data for this specific screen only.
Goals and dahboard creation is based on mappings as well.
What is mapping exhaustiveness and homogeneity?
To avoid "undefined" screen groups in the Journey Analysis, make sure that your mapping is at least 95% exhaustive (all screes are included).
It is preferable if the screens grouped into screen groups follow the same template. Zonings give you an aggregated display of metrics based on all of screen of the screen group. This means that the screens found within a screen group should all have the same template in order for the zonings to show consistent metrics on the various zones of the screen group.

Can I use the same screen on different Screen groups in the same mapping?
No. Screen groups are exclusive to a screen. If you try to create a new rule to include screens already mapped out in another Screen groups, you will get an Error message.
Using the same screen on different screen groups is not possible. That’s why we use Screen groups - they help you to organize the collected data on screens of your app.
How to add a new screen to a mapping?
1. Select a mapping
2. Click on “Setup” button
3. Copy the screen path from the “Screen not included” list
4. Paste it in the search bar
5. Click on “Create a new screen” or “Include in an existing screen” if the missing screen name has the same screen template.
6. Choose a category from the list
Why are my Screen groups in conflict in the Mappings module?
If a screen is included in several Screen groups, the Mappings module will let you know that your screen already exists on another screen group. Indeed, you can't have a screen included in several screen groups otherwise the screen would appear in different steps of the same navigation path, making the in-app path visualization inaccurate.
Use shortcuts in Journey analysis or Screen metrics
1. Right-click on a screen group
2. Select “Show contained screens”
