Combined segments
For an even more comprehensive analysis, you can add conditions and create groups of conditions.
Add a condition
When you click on "+ Add condition", you can select an operator between “AND”, “OR” & “THEN” to further specify the population you want to focus on.
In the example below, I'm focusing on the population of new users who achieved the goal "reached cart".
Create a group of conditions
Click on "+ Add a group of conditions" and choose between "OR"/"AND" operators. In the following example, we want to focus on a population of new users who either reached cart OR viewed checkout.
Note: You can add as many conditions as you need. However, if you select a goal as your condition, remember that segments can contain a maximum of nine (9) goals. |
Sequential segments
Sequential segments capabilities allow you to segment your users based on the path they have taken, so you can easily identify the cause of specific journeys that affect engagement and conversion.
Sequential segments are built with "THEN" operator and with the Viewed screen condition.
In the following example, we are focusing on users who viewed Product screen, THEN reached cart, THEN reached checkout.
Note: the operator "Then" means that within the sessions, both screens were seen in sequence, but not necessarily right after the other. In the example above, the users could have seen Product screen then checkout screen, then cart screen. |
