Leverage the Speed Analysis Lab monitoring features (synthetic monitoring) to monitor both your own and your competitors web pages, to track and monitor your Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). The monitoring is based on the Google Chrome browser (Real Browser Monitoring) all advanced options are available.
Web page monitoring is the ideal way to monitor your landing pages accessed directly by visitors (regardless of the source: search engine, URL entry or advertising campaign).
How to set up a web page monitoring
1. Go to the 'Monitoring' tab and select 'Monitor a page'.
2. Name your monitoring report (we suggest using a specific naming convention to make it easier to search for your reports).
3. Set the context for the page you want to monitor (URL, device and location).
4. Set the monitoring frequency.
5. Enable or disable email alerts.
6. Click 'Save'.
Access and analyze your monitoring data
You can view the report for a monitored page by going to Speed Analysis Lab and selecting the 'Monitoring' tab, followed by clicking on the desired element.
The Monitoring report provides both a summary of your web page performance and interactive visuals of the data, broken down into the following sections:
- Monitoring settings
- Averages and trends for the page’s Core Web Vitals
- Status of the monitored page
- Metrics monitoring: Line chart results
- Resources in error

Monitor settings
Review and manage the setup configurations for your monitor. Use the buttons on the right to:
- Edit: your monitor’s setup
- Disable: the monitor
- Three dot menu: create alerts, manage events, export the monitor data as a CSV file (according to the selected time range and aggregation), duplicate, or delete it.
Select a time frame and linechart display
Use the date picker to select a time frame for the data in your report and choose whether to show aggregated data in the line charts.
Note: available aggregation levels depend on your monitoring frequency and age, from 15 minutes to a month.
Averages and trends
See the average results of your Core Web Vitals for the selected time frame, alongside a percentage increase/decrease for each (compared to the same time frame before that).
Status of the monitored page
See the number of speed tests performed on the monitored page over the selected time frame, including a breakdown of the statuses (“OK”, “Alert” and “Errors”) detected across the total number of speed tests.
Metrics monitoring: Line chart results
Visualize the data for your selected time frame with line charts for:
- Page metrics: use the dropdown menu to choose which metrics are displayed
- Page score
- Page weight
- Number of requests
- Requests in error
Managing your line chart
You can manage the line chart display and take further actions by checking/unchecking the legends you want to display.
View more line chart details
Hover over any data points to view detailed information (if it is an aggregate, click to zoom in on the data. If the point is relative to a specific execution, click to open the related detailed report).
Investigate further
From the line charts, you can click a data point of interest to dig deeper into what happened:
- View report: See the associated Speed Analysis Lab report (generated at the date and time of the data point selected). You’ll land on the relevant section of the report, or you can review the whole report, check a video replay, or review the Timeline/Waterfall.
- Add to comparison: Create and view a comparison report between two or more data points selected. For example, to review performance before/after having made a change to the webpage. Learn more about comparing performance with Speed Analysis.
- Create event: Create an event to display on the Monitoring chart to help you reference a change or incident that happened on your site, so you can better identify any performance related impact.
Resources in error
View the most frequent resources in error during the configured time frame. Click the ‘Details’ button for more information about the source and last error date.
