What to expect

You will be able to access Contentsquare session replays directly from your Mixpanel app in order to see exactly what a user was doing when a specific event occurred and combine the analytical data of Mixpanel with the behavioral data surfaced from Contentsquare to uncover and prioritize the issues that have the greatest impact on your customer experience and revenue. When identifying an issue in a Contentsquare session replay, you will also be able to find the link to the corresponding Mixpanel user profile so that you can investigate it further in Mixpanel.

To properly make use of the replay feature you need to either have 100% collection ratio or ETR (Event Triggered replay), please talk to your CSM about this.

Please go to the section How to request an integration to see the instructions to enable this integration. You can then return here once completed.

In order to use the full integration, please provide your Contentsquare CSM or support team with your Mixpanel project ID and view ID. This will allow you go from the Contentsquare session replay to the relevant Mixpanel User Profile. See usage instructions below.
To get these IDs simply go to your Mixpanel project and in the URL you will find both IDs.

Verifying it works

You can use the chrome extension to check the results are sent to CS

Note that it will only send this once per session on the very first pageview, so to test this you will need to delete cookies then reload.

You can then also check that you find the Contentsquare replay link inside Mixpanel by checking the following place.

Note that you will only see a replay link for those users who have replays created by Contentsquare.
The % depends on the ratio your account has, you can have that increased by talking to your CSM.

Go to the Events tab and look for Event Names that contain ContentsquareReplay, you could also filter by it.

Click on the event and you should find the replay link in the JSON object

Link from Contentsquare to Mixpanel

Assuming you have already provided Contentsquare with the Mixpanel project ID and view ID, you can then check if the link from Contentsquare session replays works to Mixpanel by going to any replay session that was captured after the integration was enabled and do the following in the very first pageview of the session.

Click the 3 dots then Show variables

You will then see this popup. Click the DVAR tab and find the AN_MP_User Link key which contains a link to Mixpanel. You can click to open it.

This should then take you straight to the same session in Mixpanel:
