Alerts list
From the alert list, you can access all the details of a specific alert by clicking on it. You will be redirected to the alert graph that will help you understand the context of the notification.
Reading the alert graph
You access this interface when you click on one of the alert in the list above. It allows you to follow the evolution of the metric in more detail and over time.
1. Alert graph on AI Alerts
- The yellow curve represents the realized value of your metric inside the confidence interval (light blue). If the realized value is above or below the expected value, you will receive an alert.
- The blue curve represents the confidence interval in which the expected values (blue dots) are realized, and which the algorithm considers to be 'normal'. All values inside the confidence interval won't trigger any alert. Note that the scope of the confidence interval changes according to the chosen level of sensitivity (low, medium, high). The higher the sensitivity level is, the higher you're likely to receive alerts.
- The red curve represents the value realized outside the confidence interval. An alert will be triggered.
2. Detail tooltip: Mouse over the line to see more details on a specific day
3. More options: Copy the link of the alert, duplicate it, or share it with your colleagues. Note that you need to edit at least one element of the alert to duplicate it.
4. Quantify: Right-click on a dot on the curve to see how many sessions are impacted by the unusual variation in Impact Quantification.
Manual Alert graph reading tips
The blue and the pink curve values depend on the time frame you defined when you created your alerts. In the example above, they correspond to a "day over day" time frame, each day will be compared with the day before. Here, the pink curve represents the anterior day.
Notifications
When an unusual variation is happening on your app, the alert you set will trigger a notification. You will receive an email from which you can jump to the Alert module to visualize the context of the notification. You can either decide to set notifications at a project level, or at an alert level.
At the project level:
At the project level, you will receive a notification from any alert you created.
Toggle on the email notification on the alert list page.
At the alert level:
At the alert level, you will receive a notification only from the alert where you enabled the email notification.
Click on the edit button of a specific alert, click on the Alert category and type button, and toggle on the email notifications.
Note: If you're creating an alert, you can enable email notifications during the third step of the alert creation process. Additionally, you have the option to set up alerts for other users within your project.
E-mail notifications
Email notifications are sent from “Contentsquare” <noreply@contentsquare.com>.
- Click on Quantify to be redirected to Impact Quantification and see how many sessions are impacted by the unusual variation for the last 8 days.
- Click on Open alert to be redirected to the single alert interface with the graph
Alerts email notifications (both manual and AI) are processed once a day (at night, depending on the timezone selected on the project) and sent every morning. They are listed together in one e-mail. You can still disable email notifications at any time in the settings tab.
Notification center
To access the notification center, click on the bell icon in the top right-hand corner, next to your project name. There, you will see the list of alerts for which notifications were triggered.
Clicking on a notification will redirect you to the alert single-page details where the alert graph is displayed.
