The accessibility segments allow you to group visitors with access needs, analyze their digital experience, identify their struggles, and take actions in improving your website accessibility.
With the accessibility segments you can:
- Get an estimation of the amount of traffic on your website or mobile app that has access needs
- Apply the segments across all Contentsquare products to detect navigation and readability issues
- Quantify the impact of the accessibility-related issues on conversion and revenue.
How to use the Accessibility segments
To display the Accessibility segments, go to your Analysis context and click the Accessibility condition.
Adaptive behaviors on browser
The adaptive behaviors on browser segment returns the sessions where users use assistive techniques like keyboard navigation, zoom or text highlight to improve interaction with the web.
1. To activate the segment, choose the option Adaptive behaviors on browser. Then select sessions that have or have not used the conditions from the drop-down to include or exclude the condition from the segment.
2. Select a type of condition from the drop-down list.
Conditions can be:
Any adaptive behavior
By selecting any adaptive behavior you target the sessions where users have shown at least one adaptive behavior (keyboard navigation, page zoom, text highlight). |
Keyboard navigation
The keyboard navigation condition returns sessions where users navigate with their keyboard (focus, click or scroll). Either to be more efficient or because they are unable to use a mouse. After selection of the keyboard navigation condition, you can further specify the amount of time the user focuses, clicks or scrolls by using their keyboards. To do so, click on the Advanced filters CTA and the following options will expand:
Note! A value of 50% or more on any of above behaviors indicates a preference for keyboard navigation compared to a mouse one. |
Page zoom
The page zoom option returns the sessions where users increase the zoom of a page for improved readability. To account for accidental zoom, only page zoom for more than 3s is counted. After selecting the page zoom condition, you can also define the zoom value by adjusting the zoom percentage. |
Text highlight
The text highlight option returns the sessions where users highlight text characters. This is considered to be an adaptive behavior, to better focus on a text selection, or enhance the contrast or use text to speech/translation. After selecting the text highlight condition, you can also define the number of characters being highlighted on any given page. Note! Text highlight on elements inside Shadow Root elements is not detected. In the example below, the highlight on the text within the 'Afterpay-paragraph' won't be collected. |
