The total number of unique users based on a specific Analysis Context.
How to interpret it
This metric helps you understand how users behave over time (daily, weekly, and monthly) on your website. It shows the number of users who that fit your selected Analysis Context (e.g visited a certain page during a specific time period, or how many users made it to a certain step inside a Journey Analysis funnel).
How it's calculated
Data is collected via a cookie - if the the user declines cookies, they will be counted as different users if they visited the site several times.
The retention of the cookie ID is limited to 13 months.
What's the difference with number of sessions?
When you use the Number of users metric, every user is counted once, independently of how many sessions they are having on your website. If a user visits your your website twice a week, they will be counted as one user. However, if the same user browses your website on two different devices, they will be counted as two different users.
