Installing and Starting CS Live

This article walks you through how to install and how to start CS Live.

You can install the extension directly from the Chrome Web Store using any Chromium-based browser (e.g. Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Opera, Brave, Arc, etc.).

In this article, we cover how to:

• Install the extension
• Start the extension
• Manually update your Chrome extension

Before you begin

• Make sure you are using Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge browser (Chrome is recommended for full functionality).
• Your Contentsquare tracking tag is deployed and actively collecting data on your website. 

Install the CS Live extension

1. Navigate to the CS Live Chrome extension page using this link and follow the installation steps:
    
2. Click 'Add to Chrome'.
3. When prompted click 'Add extension'.

4. Once installed, click the puzzle piece icon in your browser's toolbar (Extensions menu).

   

5. Find 'CS Live' from the list and click the 'pin icon' to keep it visible in your toolbar for easy access.

Start CS Live

1. Make sure you are logged into the Contentsquare platform in another browser tab. (Go to app.contentsquare.com to verify you are logged in).
    
2. Open a new browser tab .

3. Go to any page on your website where the Contentsquare tag is installed.

   Tip

   Ensure the page has fully loaded.

4. Click the 'CS Live icon' in your browser toolbar.

   

5. CS Live automatically detects your existing session and authenticates without requiring you to enter credentials again.

   If CS Live doesn't automatically detect your login, try refreshing the Contentsquare platform tab and then click the CS Live icon again.

   Note

   If you have access to multiple Contentsquare projects you will need to select which project corresponds to the website you are viewing.

    

6. You will then see the CS Live tool bar on your page.

   

Manually updating your Chrome extension

By default, your browser will automatically update your Chrome extensions for you. However, if this setting has been disabled you might want to manually update your extension to ensure you have the latest CS Live features.

1. From your browser, click the three-dot menu in the top right corner.

2. Click ‘Extensions’, followed by ‘Manage extensions’.
 

3. Toggle on ‘Developer mode’ in the top right.

4. Click 'Update'. Note, this will update all of your Chrome extensions.
