This article helps you resolve common issues you might encounter when using Page Comparator.
Why am I seeing rows of 0’s (zero) in my Page Comparator list?
Possible cause:
When Regex is entered into text fields that Mappings no longer supports, Page Comparator generates rows with all values set to 0 (zero).
This pattern will typically present in multiple rows together (normally in groups of 5-10) as shown here:
When creating Mappings, you can still use Regex, but you will receive the warning below. If you ignore this warning and proceed to use Regex, the mapping will filter the correct data, but it will not display it in the Page Comparator.
Note
To use Regex, you must use the Regex field (= conditions MATCHES REGEX 1 DOES NOT MATCH REGEX), not the other ones. Regex created within other text fields is not supported by the application.
Solution:
Follow these instructions to manually check each Mapping related to each of the rows displaying 0s (zero) to ensure that Regex is not being used as a page condition:
- Go to Mappings. Click on 'Analysis setup' from the main menu and then select the 'Mappings' tab.
- Enter the edit view for your mapping by clicking on its name.
- Click on the name of the page to view the page's conditions.
- Check for any Regex page conditions.
Why don't I see certain pages in Page Comparator?
- The page isn't included in your selected mapping: Check your mapping configuration to ensure the page is properly defined. Please read Introduction to Mappings to learn how to add pages.
- The page has no traffic during your selected time period: Adjust your Analysis context to a different time period or check if the page was recently added to your site.
- Filters or segments are excluding the page: Remove any applied segments or filters in your Analysis context to see if the page appears.
Why can't I see the metrics I need?
You may need to customize your columns to display the metrics you're looking for.
- Click 'Customize columns' at the top of the Page Comparator table.
- Scroll through the list of available metrics.
- Check the boxes next to the metrics you want to display.
- Click 'Save'.
If a specific metric still isn't available, it may be limited to certain plans. See the plan availability for individual metrics in the Metrics section of the Help Center.
Why is my conversion metric showing unexpected values?
Possible causes & solutions:
- No conversion goal is selected: Make sure you've selected a conversion goal from the Goal selector at the top of Page Comparator. The conversion metric is based on the goal you select
- The goal isn't properly configured: Check your goal configuration in the Goals module to ensure it's set up correctly. Read the article Introduction to Goals & Key Events for more details.
- The pages don't contribute to this goal: Some pages may naturally have low or no contribution to certain goals. For example, a blog page may not contribute to a "Purchase" goal.
Why can’t I export or share my Page Comparator analysis?
Possible causes & solutions:
- Permission restrictions: Check with your Contentsquare administrator to ensure you have the necessary permissions to export or share data.
- Browser issues: Try clearing your browser cache or using a different browser. Some browser extensions may also interfere with export functionality.
