What is the Model Context Protocol
Model Context Protocol (MCP) is a standardized framework designed to enable AI models, particularly large language models (LLMs), to connect with external data, tools, and services such as databases, APIs, and file systems. It acts as a bridge between an AI agent and these external resources, allowing the agent to retrieve and use information through a common connection method.
What is the Model Context Protocol integration
The Contentsquare MCP integration connects compatible AI agents to your Contentsquare data. You can use natural-language questions to retrieve and analyze Contentsquare data through the MCP server.
The AI agent can only access the Contentsquare accounts, projects, and data that you are permitted to access.
Before connecting an external AI tool, review the tool and confirm that it meets your organization's security, privacy, and data-handling policies.
Your Contentsquare plan includes a tool call allowance specifically for the MCP Server integration. This determines how many analytics requests you can run through the MCP integration. Read more in the Contentsquare pricing page.
What can you do with MCP?
You can use MCP to:
- Query Contentsquare data through compatible AI agents.
- Analyze metrics, funnels, journeys, page performance, impact, and errors.
- Ask follow-up questions to refine an analysis.
- Combine Contentsquare data with information available in other connected tools, when supported by your AI agent.
- Build automated workflows that use Contentsquare insights.
Compatible AI agents
The Contentsquare MCP integration works with MCP-compatible AI agents, including:
- Claude Desktop.
- ChatGPT with MCP support.
- Microsoft Copilot.
- Gemini Enterprise. Gemini Enterprise requires an Application in Contentsquare.
- Other AI tools that support the Model Context Protocol standard.
Compatibility depends on whether the AI provider supports MCP and how it implements the connection.
Most AI agents connect to Contentsquare through OAuth. Some tools, such as Gemini Enterprise, require a Client ID and Client secret created in an Application in Contentsquare.
