Sharing a dashboard means your team can view or work on your data directly in Contentsquare, no exporting or copying needed. You can set a general access level for everyone in your project, or give specific users their own individual permissions. with your team easily by sharing your dashboards.
Before you begin
- You can only share a dashboard if you're the dashboard owner or an account admin, if the Share button isn't visible, check with your admin.
- Sharing is set at the individual dashboard level, each dashboard has its own access settings
Individual user permissions always override the general access settings.
Share a dashboard

Open the share settings and click the ‘Share’ button from a dashboard in your dashboard list or from a specific dashboard.

Choose the general level level for all users in the project:
- Restricted: Only users you specifically invite can access it.
- Everyone: all users in the project can access the dashboard.

If you select 'Everyone' you can choose whether all users have 'Viewer' or Editor' access.
- Click ‘Done’.
To give individual users or teams different access from the general setting, invite them separately and assign their own permission/access level.
Tip
Individual permissions always override the general access setting. For example, if general access is set to Restricted, a user you've individually granted Editor rights can still edit the dashboard, regardless of the general setting can also invite specific users or teams, from the project, and assign individual access rights.
Export a Dashboard
You can also export your dashboard as a csv. or a PDF file (A4 or a letter) and share with your team.

Click the more options menu in the top right corner of the dashboard, next to 'Add widget'.
- Select 'Export' and pick an export option.
- You'll get a confirmation notification once your export is ready.

Can I remove or update a user's access?
Yes, open the Share settings for the dashboard and update or remove the user's individual access from there. User-specific settings override the general access settings.
Can I transfer ownership of a dashboard to another user?
Yes, as a dashboard owner, you can transfer the ownership to another user.
How many dashboards can I share?
You can share an unlimited number of dashboards.
How can I view dashboards that have been shared with me?
Go to your Dashboards list and use the Shared with me quick filter, it'll show every dashboard you've been given access to. you shared dashboards will be listed in the dashboards list page. Use the filter option 'Share with me'.
What are the differences between ‘Viewer’ and ‘Editor’ rights?
Viewer can view all information in the dashboard and take actions that don't change it, like exporting or using shortcuts. An Editor can make changes to the dashboard, but can't share, delete, or transfer ownership.
An editor can edit the dashboard but cannot share rights, delete, or transfer ownership of the dashboard.
Is it possible to get automatic email updates from a Dashboard?
No, for automatic email updates about your metrics you will need to create Alerts. Alerts monitor any variations in your metrics, notifying you of any changes that occurred in the last 24 hours. (Alerts are available on Pro and Enterprise plans only).
