Understanding how your site is performing doesn't have to mean building reports from scratch. The Site Performance dashboard template gives you a ready-made view of your most important site metrics, so you can start monitoring performance immediately and spend more time acting on what you find.
Before you begin
- Free plan: The Site Performance template doesn't include conversion metrics on your plan.
- Growth, Pro, and Enterprise plans: Conversion metrics in this dashboard are tied to a Conversion goal, a specific behavior you want to track, like a purchase, a sign-up, or any other key action. If you haven't set one up yet, you can create a custom goal in Goals before getting started

Set up the site performance dashboard
-
From your dashboards list, click '+ New dashboard'.
-
Select the 'Site performance' template.
Your dashboard will be created with the following metrics already configured:
Site metrics
- Number of sessions: how many visits your site received
- Bounce rate: the percentage of users who left without interacting
- Views per session: how many pages a typical users viewed
- Session time: how long users spent on your site on average
- Revenue: total revenue generated (requires Pro and Enterprise plans)
- Average cart: average cart value across sessions (requires Pro and Enterprise plans)
Conversion metrics (based on your selected Conversion goal) (requires Growth, Pro and Enterprise plans).
- Conversion rate: the percentage of sessions where the goal was completed
- Number of conversions: total number of times the goal was completed
- Number of sessions / Conversion rate: sessions compared against conversion rate
Conversion goals don't have to be purchase-based. You can use any goal that represents a meaningful action for your business, a form submission, a video play, or a key page visit, for example. See all site-level metric definitions.
Customize your conversion goal
(Requires Growth, Pro and Enterprise plans)
If you want to analyze performance against a different conversion goal, you can update it across the entire dashboard at once, or just on a single widget.
To update the goal across all widgets:
-
Open the Analysis context bar at the top of the dashboard.
-
Select a goal from the dropdown and click 'Apply'.
- All conversion metrics will update instantly to reflect the new goal.
To update the goal on single widget
-
Click the '...' menu on the widget you want to update.
-
Click 'Edit'.
- Open the 'Metric' dropdown.
- Go to Conversion and select your goal.
-
Save your changes.
Tip
Use a single-widget goal change when you want to compare two different conversion goals side by side on the same dashboard, for example, tracking both sign-ups and purchases at once.
