Only users with Admin access can install and modify IP Blocking
settings.
Read-only for other users.
Before you begin
You'll need to retrieve:
- Account Admin permissions in Contentsquare (only Account Admins can configure IP blocking)
- Your office's public IP address(es) or the IP addresses you want to block
Important note
You need your public IP address, not your internal network IP. Private IP addresses (starting with 10.x.x.x, 172.16.x.x, or 192.168.x.x) won't work.
Accessing the IP blocking menu
- click on your profile icon.
- Click 'Projects and users'.
- Select 'IP Blocking' from the left hand menu.
Configure IP blocking
You can exclude certain users, such as people in your office, by IP address.
Contentsquare uses the outbound public IP address to block devices, so it's important that the IP addresses are public and not internal or private.
The user who has their IP blocked won't be captured as a Session Replay. Their visit will also not contribute data to any Heatmaps. However, Surveys will still be shown to these visitors.
- To block a user's IP simply add the IP addresses to the list and click ‘Save’.
- Add as many IPs as you want, separated by a line return.
