How to access Sense Analyst in Slack
To use Sense Analyst in Slack, you first need to connect it to your Slack workspace.
Before you start, make sure that:
- You have a Contentsquare account with access to Sense Analyst.
- You have access to the Contentsquare project you want to analyze.
- Your Slack email address matches the email address on your Contentsquare account.
- You have access to a Slack workspace where you can install apps.
A Contentsquare administrator with access to Sense Analyst must complete the installation. Slack may also require approval from a Slack workspace admin.
Install Sense Analyst
- In Contentsquare, go to Sense Settings > Connected apps.
- In the Slack section, select Connect.
- You’re redirected to Slack. Review the permissions requested by Sense Analyst and select Allow to approve the installation.
If you aren’t a Slack workspace admin, Slack displays a Request to install message. Enter a message for your Slack admin, then select Submit Request. A Slack admin must approve the request before you can use Sense Analyst.
Add Sense Analyst to a channel
After the installation is approved:
- Open a public or private Slack channel.
- Enter @Sense Analyst in the message field.
- Select Sense Analyst from the list to add it to the channel.
Ask Sense Analyst a question
- Open a public or private Slack channel where Sense Analyst has been added.
- Mention @Sense Analyst.
- Enter your question.
- Send the message.
For example:
@Sense Analyst What changed in mobile conversion this week?
If you have access to more than one Contentsquare project, Sense Analyst asks you to choose a project after you send your first question in a thread. Select the project from the options shown. Your selection is saved for the rest of that thread.
Sense Analyst’s responses are visible to everyone who can see the Slack channel or thread.
Ask follow-up questions to go deeper
The first answer is your starting point, not your conclusion. Mention @Sense Analyst in the same thread to ask follow-up questions and refine your analysis.
If you mention Sense Analyst in an existing thread, it uses earlier messages in the thread to understand your question. It only reads the thread when you mention it. It doesn’t monitor or respond to ordinary conversations.
Continue your analysis in Contentsquare
The latest Sense Analyst response in a thread includes an Open in Contentsquare button. Select it to continue the investigation in Contentsquare.
This creates an independent conversation in your Contentsquare account. Each time you select Open in Contentsquare, a separate conversation is created.
Follow-up questions in Contentsquare aren’t sent back to Slack, and messages added to the Slack thread aren’t added to the Contentsquare conversation.
